Manchester City FC club with a long history
The English Premier League club is based in Manchester, Greater Manchester. The home stadium is Etihad Stadium.
It was first founded as St Marks West Gorton in 1880, and settled as Manchester City FC in 1894. It is a club with a long history with a record of fourth place in the number of English club All-Time national trophies and sixth place in the history of accumulated points in the first division of England.
It has been located in the middle and upper ranks of the English First Division for more than 100 years, and is a club with a long history, ranking sixth in cumulative points in the English First Division even before Mansour's acquisition of the club.
He has been relegated since the start of the Premier League, but has emerged as England's first Premier League title in the 2011-12 season and the first division title in 44 years since the acquisition of United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister Mansour bin Zayed Alnayan in 2008, winning 100 points in a single Premier League season, and the only domestics in English football history.
With the English Premier League reorganization from the 1992–93 season, Manchester City continued to decline when Manchester United became a world-class powerhouse and popular team with the most wins in the Premier League. Peter Swales, who has been running the team carelessly, resigned in 1994 and was appointed chairman of team legend Francis Lee.
Nevertheless, the team's management had to suffer the humiliation of being relegated to the 1995–96 Championship League (second division), and even the 1997–98 League (third division). Although not a strong league team, it was the first time in the history of a European club international championship (winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup) that it was a disgrace to be relegated to the third division. In the middle of the 1998–99 season, only one season later, David Bernstein and Joe Royle were promoted to the second division in 1999, thanks to the performance of Bermuda unknown striker Sean Gorter, and in the 1999–00 season they beat Blackburn Rovers in the second division playoffs, but were relegated to 18th place.
In the meantime, after recruiting young players from the periphery of European football such as Denmark and the Third World to strengthen their power, he finished first in the league under newly appointed Kevin Keegan in the 2001–02 season and quickly moved to the Premier League. In the 2002–03 season, the first season of promotion, he lost 54 points due to his ups and downs and weak defense, but finished ninth to serve as a dark horse. He also took the lead with one win and one draw in the match-up against Manchester United, the winner of the season. In 2003, he left the familiar Main Road and settled for the new stadium, City of Manchester Stadium.
After the move, Arsenal's top goalkeeper David Seaman was hired to strengthen his defense, striker Nikola Anelka and midfielder Trevor Sinclair from West Ham United, who had just been relegated to Football League Division 1, but failed to make it to the 16th, 15th and 14th places, respectively, as the bottom teams. In the 2006–07 season, he narrowly escaped relegation after losing to third-tier club Chesterfield, scoring only 10 goals at home throughout the league, and scoring less than a single goal at home against Everton on January 1, 2007, when manager Stuart Pearce became Manchester City's black history.
Then in 2007, former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was kicked out of Thailand in a coup a year ago, bought the club to enhance his image. In fact, Manchester City supporters and Britain's response was calm. Thaksin failed to acquire Liverpool FC in 2004, and in the meantime, he was not very happy with Manchester City fans, saying, "I bought Manchester City instead of a pheasant when Liverpool refused." Still, he spent some money to recruit Svenjeran Eriksson, who has previously led England's national team, and some players who could work in the Premier League. Illanu and Martin Petrov are representative. Other recruitments include Rolando Bianke, Valerie Bozhinov, Bedran Choluka, Giovanni, Zelsson Fernandes and Javier Garido. In the 2007–08 season, Manchester City took the lead with three consecutive Premier League wins, and the Champions League was within range until about 2/3 of the league, with both home and away victories at Manchester United. There was also a flaw in the 0:6 defeat at Chelsea and a 1:8 defeat at Middlesbrough in the final game, but the center-back line of Richard Dunn and Micah Richards was a big boost to Manchester City's good performance. And transferred players Elanu and Martin Petrov also played very well without adaptation. However, as most |Great Wind Teams experience, they finished ninth in the league with only three wins, two draws and seven losses in 12 league games after Manchester United's away victory. Although he finished ninth in the league, he was selected as a fair play team that year and earned the right to play in the UEFA Cup from the first qualifying round. In the British media Popotu, 9th place in the middle ranks was also well done.
However, Thaksin replaced the coach who raised the bottom team to the mid-level and advanced to the UEFA Cup for the first time in five years, and sold it to Mansour through Al-Fahim when his funds in Thailand were blocked by the law. Thaksin has more than doubled the profit thanks to him and all three Thai players who joined Manchester City in Thaksin's halo were released in October 2008.
At that time, Sun Ji-yi was known to have played an active role in Manchester City in Korea. Sun Ji-yi moved to the winter transfer market in the 2001-02 season when his team was in the second division, and after the team was promoted to the first division next season, he continued to play as a key player before the 2007-08 season when Thaksin took office as the owner. However, after Thaksin became the owner of the club, he naturally lost his position as he strengthened his players and eventually moved to Sheffield United in 2008.
In addition, Joey Barton, one of the best villains in Premier League history, was often mentioned in Korean media as he caused various incidents, and was known as a team of Marc-Vienne Foe, who died of a heart attack during the FIFA Confederations Cup. In addition, top goalkeepers such as Peter Schmeichel and David Seaman also spent their last years here.
